YIKES! Over two months since I've posted! Time is really flying around here. I hit the ground running this beautiful Saturday morning, starting with putting the coffee on and then a mad dash to the laundry room to get the laundry going. I swear it multiplied over night. It's been a busy week. I've been off on vacation, so that's been very nice. Yet, I'm down to two short days left! And my "to-do" list is still very long. Let's see, the week started with me actually having to "work" most of Monday and Tuesday, so that put a BIG dent in my agenda. But I did accomplish quite alot this week. Cooked a blueberry pie, corn pudding, cornbread dressing, gravy and Keith smoked a turkey and we hauled all of that over to brother Vic's house on Thursday and had a great time! Let's see, what else...oh, cleaned out the upstairs linen closet, paid the bills, subscribed to some "garden planning" software and started planning the Spring GRACE Community Gardens, drove around with teenagers and found the black skirt Susannah needed for her upcoming charity "Songfest" performance in College Station, "swiffered" all the cabinets and picture frame paneling and got rid of all the spider webs in corners high and low, found our neighbors 3 year old a birthday present, fed the dogs countless times, started my "to-do" list to get ready for Christmas, and of course, did countless loads of laundry!
There's one thing I know for sure though.....a lovely glass of wine in a fabulous goblet cures all ills...cheers!

Fried
I can't believe it's been over a month since I posted. I was in College Station the last time I posted....and I guess the "taking my firstborn to college" experience really took it's toll, as I've been FRIED ever since! I was back in Aggieland a couple of weekends ago, there was Labor Day where we went to our friends house for the weekend, I helped plant Grapevine's first community garden over one of the past weekends....thus, I have not taken the time to post. And of course there's always the DAMN laundry! I will try to come back more often!
P.S. This is the picture of FRIED!

Bored

About 3 Fridays ago I arrived home from work, and my daughter Madeline reported that she had been bored that day (sis was meeting her new roommates in College Station). So she began to tell me that she had completed 5 "art" projects. She's great that way....she comes up with all kinds of creative ways to take stuff laying around and make it into something fun and cool (she's left handed). Then she said she had also "painted a picture of girl". Her "girl" is named Lucy. Lucy makes me smile - I love her eyebrows!

Milestones
Eighteen years ago today I was so excited because in 5 days I was going to give birth to my first baby! We didn't find out the sex, and we could barely wait to find out. She was a scheduled C-Section, as she was breech. When Dr. Jernigan said "It's a girl", and we knew she was okay, we couldn't contain our JOY! Fast forward 18 years, and we're in College Station, getting ready to go to Fish Camp. Another huge JOY! Thank you Susannah for filling our lives with your joy!

Friday
Yeah! It's Friday. I've been home since around 6. Stopped at Tom Thumb and got a great bottle of Chardonnay - Cambria 2006 Katherine's Vineyard. Have enjoyed it tonight while watching various TV, running the dishwasher, and making "mental notes" for leaving for Aggieland on Sunday....much more to come on this topic. Here's an image of one of my many angels that inhabit my home. ENJOY! P.S. She REALLY needs to be polished...

Dogs and Poop
We awoke again (also happened yesterday) to a foul odor, although one that is familiar. One of our dogs (to remain unnamed), went into the master bathroom during the night and dropped a hot, steaming pile of poop. Upon awakening, this immediately sends myself and my spouse into a homicidal rage (not sure what you call the desire to kill a dog). It was spouses turn to clean it up :) Yes, life is sweet.

So much to do
Today I had a long list of "to dos". My goal was to complete this list while at work, by making good use of my time while sitting on conference calls and during lunch. You see, my almost 18 year old daughter is leaving in less than a week for college. Yes, her freshman year. The list of "to dos" has been LONG....but we are so close. I realized that while I didn't think getting her ready was stressing me out, I managed to gain 15 pounds since January. You know, if you just eat enough and drink enough wine, your anxiety will go away....hmmmmm, well anyway, back to today. Luckily, one can take care of most of the "to dos" solely online quickly and easily. I checked into getting her a birthday cake in College Station, as we move her into her apartment on her 18th birthday. I called the cable company and arranged for a DVR for her new place, I re-ordered her parking permit as there had been an issue with the on-line process the first time I ordered it, I ordered her Sports Pass to get her into all the football games, and I tried to pay the final tuition payment, but the site was not ready yet for the Fall tuition payments. And I also checked off my work "to do" list, making great progress on piggy-backing on someone else's product test. It's been a great day!
